Music enriches the lives of everyone. Music lessons at the Rainbow Music centre are lively and enjoyable. Concerts are held regularly to encourage children to perform with confidence and this ability helps them in many other areas of their life. Learning to play a musical instrument is rarely easy, but by careful planning and structuring, we have devised a teaching method, which is flexible enough to suit every child’s needs. All children can succeed in music with good teaching; it is a misconception that one needs a ‘musical ear’. We all have musical ears!
The age of about five is a good time to start training the ear, which is why the first courses at the centre are aimed at this age group. However, many children have started later and have done very well.
The great music educator Kodaly said that a child’s first music teacher is far more important than a great conductor. He can just be sacked! A child’s early musical experiences are vital to ensure a lifetime’s enjoyment of music making. Sometimes methods train the fingers only- at Rainbow, the love of music comes first, followed by the training of the ear, the eyes and the fingers. The results speak for themselves.
Courses are available under 10's, GCSE grade and advanced lesson for adults and teachers. Please use this website to show you what Rainbow Music Centre has to offer. Enjoy !!
